Put the metal plate back over the bottom of the shifter, and seat it onto the bottom of the dust cover. Put the shifter back up through the holding plate on the shifter rod, and quickly re-install the two bolts to hold the entire shifter assembly.

Maybe uninstall the shifter and put the stock one back on and see if the problem still exists. If it does, take the car to the dealership and have them fix it.. If it doesnt, send the Hurst back for a replacement. I have had mine installed for about 2 years now and haven't had an issue.

It's a 1984 Mitsubishi turbo diesel truck with 5 speed manual transmission. When the clutch is released and car is running, it moves forward as if in second gear. I can move the shift lever, but no matter where I move it (neutral, reverse, etc) and release the clutch, it is still stuck in 2nd gear and moves forward.
